Oecanthus latipennis
Male Broad-winged tree crickets have a very loud song, due to the size of their wings. They tend to be found closer to the ground.
Now how the width of the wings is much wider than than of the abdomen.
Note how the raspberry red coloring extends up the antennae on this individual.
The degree of red varies. Note this male has a dark pink color.
The coloring of this female is more striking.
