Allard’s tree cricket
Male Oecanthus allardi tree cricket.
Antennal markings for Oeanthus allardi.
The dark rings on the antennae and equal-distanced white spots on the abdomen of the female nymph resemble others in the rileyi species group.
This male has his beautiful wings opened in order to sing to the female – you can see only her ovipositor and a couple of limbs.
This is a single Allard’s tree cricket male singing.
Here are several Allard’s males singing in synchrony.
