Davis’

Oecanthus exclamationis

The song of Davis’ tree crickets can often be mistaken for Narrow-winged tree cricket or a cool weather Two-spotted tree cricket.

Female Davis’ tree cricket have a sleek and elegant appearance. This species has just a touch of golden yellow on the top of the head. They were named exclamationis because the markings on the first two antennal segment look like an upside-down exclamation point. (Note: Narrow-winged nymphs also have a golden patch on the head, but as adults it turns deep orange/red.)
